LEE FOWLER will have a novel viewpoint during a big Cymru Premier League showdown for Flint Town United this evening.

The Silkmen will open their December programme with their home clash versus bottom-of-the-table Aberystwyth Town.

Flint boss Fowler is banned from the dugout for the next two matches after he was sent off during last month’s 2-1 win at home to Briton Ferry Llansawel.

So his right hand man, former Wales and Wrexham defender Steve Evans, will have extra responsibility at The Essity Stadium.

Fowler (pictured below) was red carded early in the second period after he intercepted the ball before it went out of play.

“I will take it on the chin,” he said ahead of this evening’s encounter.

“I can’t go into the changing room and I can’t go on the pitch. But with Steve in charge, I have got someone I can trust.

“There’s no dialogue allowed. I can’t be seen to be affecting the next two matches.

“I will be staying out. The vantage point is higher. You see things you don’t necessarily see from pitch level.

“You can see all the spaces and threats, but you can’t get the message down.”

Flint won 2-0 at Aberystwyth earlier in the season and another three-point haul would go a long way towards their safety push.

Although Aberystwyth are in last position, they have managed to secure their spot in the final of this season’s Welsh League Cup.

Aber defeated Cardiff City U21s on penalties to set up a final meeting with The New Saints, who go to Bala Town tonight.

Connah’s Quay Nomads’ quest to climb into the top-six remains on hold as they were pegged back in a 1-1 draw against Caernarfon Town last night.

Nomads’ keeper George Radcliffe made a fine save from Zack Clarke’s effort as the visitors sought an opener while Caernarfon keeper Stephen McMullan was forced to tip over Callum Bratley’s volley.

Quay had the lead when they were awarded a 33rd minute penalty for a foul and Rhys Hughes converted.

Further Quay chances came when the second half got underway, with Ben Nash hitting the woodwork and Jack Kenny’s volley was saved by McMullan.

However, the Canaries were level on 61 minutes via former Airbus striker Adam Davies.

Hughes went close to regaining the lead for Quay three minutes later when his strike was cleared off the line.

Caernarfon were down to 10 men in the last minute when Phil Mooney picked up a second yellow card.

Luca Hogan went close to a stoppage time winner for the hosts, but his deflected effort went just over.

Mael Davies’ strike ensured leaders Penybont defeated Haverfordwest 1-0 to go four points clear, while Briton Ferry Llansawel beat Newtown 2-1 thanks to Jasper Payne’s goal 17 minutes into stoppage time.

Cefn Druids go in search of a fourth win on the trot when the host Sychdyn tonight in the North East Wales Championship.

Druids, who reformed this season, have beaten Deeside Dragons, Yr Wyddgrug and Johnstown in their last three games.
