IT remains so tight towards the foot of Division One North following a dramatic day of action.
Four of the bottom five clubs faced each other in key encounters and now three points separate the four clubs towards the foot of the standings.
Mold remain in the relegation zone on the back of their 42-27 reverse at Ruthin, who managed to haul themselves out of the bottom two.
Wrexham are a point ahead of Mold and just outside the relegation zone after their 6-5 defeat away to Llangefni, who moved themselves up to seventh in the rankings.
It was a nip-and-tuck showdown, which witnessed a scoreless first half.
Llangefni opened the scoring with a 47th minute penalty and a second successful kick stretched that advantage out to six points with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining.
Wrexham dragged themselves back to within striking distance with Eddie Nyamangara’s 70th minute try and the result meant they picked up a losing bonus point from their efforts.
Leaders Nant Conwy maintained their two-point advantage at the top courtesy of a 33-0 success away to Bala, while second-placed Caernarfon kept hold of their unbeaten record with a 31-17 outcome at COBRA.
Denbigh now sit at the bottom of the standings as they suffered a 54-12 reverse at Pwllheli and the other match witnessed a narrow 15-12 success for Llandudno at home to Bethesda.
Division Two North leaders Welshpool managed to get the better of basement side Caernarfon Athletic 57-17, while second-placed Nant Conwy Athletic defeated Dolgellau 33-19.
Elsewhere, Colwyn Bay were pipped 24-22 at Machynlleth.
The match of the day in Division Three North East was the top-two showdown between Llanidloes and second-placed Wrexham Athletic.
Wrexham looked to be on course to end leaders Llanidloes’ unbeaten start to the season when they were 10 points ahead with just 10 minutes remaining.
Ioan Craven-Jones grabbed the visitors’ try, while Jack Jones kicked a penalty and conversion.
Llanidloes, however, finished on a high to turn things around and they grabbed two converted tries to confirm a 14-10 result.
Mold Athletic picked up a comfortable 46-19 success at Denbigh Athletic and there was a 33-27 success for Bro Gwernant away to Flint.
In further action, Rhosllanerchrugog lost out 36-17 at Ruthin Athletic.
RGC suffered a 34-18 defeat during their Super Rugby Cymru trip to Aberavon.
The visitors were well in the contest just before the interval and they were just a point adrift.
However, RGC gave Aberavon the opportunity to extend the lead just at the break.
Scott Delnevo’s try had Aberavon in the lead, with Ed Dunford adding the conversion points.
The home side then extended their lead to 14 points as Luke Davies crossed the whitewash and and Dunford once more added the extras.
RGC got some points on the board with a Billy McBryde penalty and a try from scrum-half Dan Rodrick meant it was game on again.
Then, Sam Stoddard grabbed the away side’s second try, while McBryde’s conversion meant there was only a point between the sides.
Winger Cori Lewis-Jenkins grabbed a try just before the break to make sure Aberavon had a six-point advantage at half-time.
The home side moved clear in the second half and RGC’s only bright spot came from Rhys Tudor’s try.
