PHIL PARKINSON is relishing a busy December when Wrexham will aim to maintain their lofty position in League One.
The Reds ended November with back-to-back home wins against Exeter City (3-0) and Lincoln City (1-0) to sit second in the table, four points behind leaders Wycombe Wanderers.
There are six league games this month, starting with tonight's clash against sixth placed Barnsley, and Parkinson can't wait.
"We are really excited about the month of December," said the Reds' boss, whose side didn't play at the weekend after exiting the FA Cup.
"It is brilliant to be in this position we have got ourselves in.
"Firstly being in League One but secondly, to be competing at the right end of the table, and we are just enjoying every day.
"Another home game against Barnsley is a great opportunity for us to keep our momentum going.
"Tuesday night at The Racecourse is always a bit special.
"We had a different schedule last week with not having a game on Saturday but it was a good week and the lads are in good shape, really looking forward to the game."
After playing host to Barnsley, Wrexham also have home games in the league this month against Cambridge United (December 14), Blackpool (December 26) and Wigan (December 29), and are away at Burton Albion (December 7) and Bristol Rovers (December 21).
Parkinson has been given a boost with midfield duo James Jones and George Evans, and striker Steven Fletcher, who have all had a spell on the sidelines, closing in on return to action ahead of the hectic festive period.
"We have got players coming back into training," he added.
"James was back in last week, Fletch joined in some of the training on Sunday and George is getting closer to joining in so that is really positive for us.
"We have changed the team around recently but the lads who have made significant contributions this season know that their opportunity will come again.
"We just make sure standards are maintained each and every day."
