LLAY WELFARE manager Jordan Scott believes a home win against Denbigh Town tomorrow could kick-start their season.

Rock-bottom Llay are nine points off the safety zone and Scott, who has taken over from Phil Hudson in the Llay dug-out, said: “We are hoping that a big win against a side like Denbigh will kick-start our season.

“We were excellent against Colwyn Bay and although we came away 2-1 losers, there were plenty of positives.

“If we perform like that every week from now until the end of the season, we have a good chance of being above the dotted line.

“Denbigh have got a lot of match winners in their side who can cause you harm if you allow them to.

“We have worked on specific things in training to eliminate their strengths and expose their weaknesses.

“We welcome back Ruben Lima after his suspension who adds pace and power to our front line and we will have a strong squad to pick from.”

Airbus boss Mark Allen has stressed the importance of consistency for Sam Baker.

Baker grabbed a brace as the Wingmakers defeated Gresford Athletic 2-0 last time out to stretch their lead at the top of the standings to seven points and he could be a key figure as Airbus face a trip to Ruthin tomorrow.

Allen told the club’s X site: “I think he’s got nine goals in the league and had a few in the cup.

“So, for him, it’s making sure that he’s consistent in his performance, which I asked him to do before the game and he’s proved it right. So, well done to him.”

A strengthening of the Wingmakers could well provide Allen with a headache or two ahead of the weekend.

“We’ve potentially got a few coming back in, so that will strengthen us a little bit and then prepare for Ruthin,” said Allen.

“You know, mid-table at the moment and playing well.

“So, we always have tough games against them and it’s important that we prepare right for them and we’re going for three points.”

Aden Shannon (pictured right) is ready to go head-to-head with the man he got the better of in last season’s Ardal North West League title battle.

Gareth Thomas is the new boss at tomorrow’s visitors Prestatyn Town after ending his long spell in charge of Rhyl 1879.

“It’s going to be a very tough game with Gareth going in there now,” said Flint Mountain manager Shannon, who is still fuming after having to travel all the way to Penrhyncoch last Saturday only for the game to be postponed late on.

“They will be a different team and will be difficult to beat

“We are hoping to just have a good finish to the season now and finish as high as we can

“We have had done okay so far and the lads that have come in have done well.”

Mold Alex will look to make the most of home comforts as they aim to conclude an epic November on a high.

Barry Owen’s side, who knocked top flight Briton Ferry Llansawel out of the Welsh Cup earlier this month, will look for an eighth league win of the season as they tackle Guilsfield.

Owen said: “Expecting a tough game against a solid side. Obviously, coming up against a team with a new manager, they’ll be out to prove a point, but we are coming off a fantastic win ourselves against Briton Ferry Llansawel and there’s great confidence in the camp.

“We have a few players also back in contention after missing the last game.”
