HAYLEY LADD says spectators are in for a “great game” as Wales continue their quest to qualify for a major tournament.

Rhian Wilkinson’s side are within sight of securing a spot in the 2025 European Championship Finals and they’re preparing for a huge play-off against the Republic of Ireland.

Cardiff hosts the first leg this evening and Ladd (pictured above) said: “I think it’s amazing what we’re doing. Obviously, we’re representing Wales on the big stage and kind of on the cusp of history. I think it’s going to be a great game. So, excited from a player angle and, obviously, from the spectator lens as well.

“I think it’s going to be a great game.”

There’s a big game in capital on Sunday too when Wrexham head to Adran Premier leaders Cardiff City.

Wrexham look set to be without Abbie Iddenden for a spell after she was injured in last week’s 1-0 loss at The New Saints.

Boss Steve Dale told the club’s YouTube channel: “It happens, but that’s part and parcel of football.

“Any team in the division will probably say the same when they’re going through the same thing. You know, we believe in the squad.

“We’ve got good quality in that squad and it’s about people who might not have been playing as much. It’s their opportunity to sort of knock on the door.”

A super Sunday is in the offing with leaders Connah’s Quay Nomads heading to second-placed Llandudno in Adran North,

Nomads’ boss Jordan Parry stressed it is “just another game” and he told the club’s X site: “Llandudno, we know it’s going to be a tough task.”
