WREXHAM will face League Two outfit Crewe Alexandra at The Racecourse in the EFL Trophy round of 32.
Phil Parkinson's side finished top of Group B after securing wins against Salford City and Wolves Under-21s, and a draw at Port Vale, guaranteeing a home draw in the second round.
With the Northern draw split into two separate sections, Wrexham knew they would play one of the runners-up from Groups E-H and they will meet Crewe at their iconic North Wales stadium.
Wrexham are third in League One while Crewe are second in League Two.
Round of 32 ties are scheduled to be played in the week commencing Monday December 9.
The competition remains regionalised up to the quarter-final stage. Knockout games will be settled by penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes until the final, which will feature extra time if necessary.
Wrexham , who won the competition in 2005, also topped their group last season with three victories from three outings but were beaten 3-2 by Burton Albion at The Racecourse in the round of 32.
