RYAN BARNETT has signed a new contract with Wrexham, committing his future at The Racecourse until 2027 with the option of an additional year.
Barnett, who joined the Reds from Solihull Moors in February 2023, has featured in 14 of the 15 league matches this season and claimed six assists so far.
As well as earning back-to-back promotions, Barnett won the club’s Goal of the Season award in 2023-24 for his superb volley in the 6-0 win against Forest Green Rovers on the day Wrexham secured their place in League One – one of three goals he has netted for Phil Parkinson's side.
On signing a new deal, the 25-year-old told the official club website: “I’m buzzing to get it sorted. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be at the moment.
“The atmosphere around the club is brilliant and I’m glad it’s something I get to be a part of for even longer.
“It’s a proud and happy moment for myself and my family.”
Barnett has been in excellent form this season and was nominated for the League One Player of the Month award for October after setting up five goals.
With six assists for the season, Barnett scored his first goal in the 1-0 win at home to Mansfield Town earlier this month to help keep Wrexham flying high in the third tier.
Parkinson said: “We’re really pleased for Ryan’s new contract. He’s adapted well to life in League One and fully deserves his new deal.”
