YOU’VE got to have sympathy for Northop Hall sides in North East Wales Girls’ League U16s’ division action.
Two of Hall’s sides helped themselves to nine goals, but both slipped to defeats.
Hall Jets U15s were pipped 6-5 at Berriew where Anna Fogerty (2), Juliet Collis (2) and Lily Davies scored.
Emily Wright (2), Macy Jones and Kacey Roberts were on the mark for Hall’s U16s in their 7-4 loss against Acton, who prevailed through Casey Armstrong (3), Maisie Sutcliffe (2), Chloe Ridley and Layla Williams.
Northop Hall Falcons lost out 7-0 to Corwen U15s, who had Enlli Edwards (4), Emily Davies, Elsa Ellis and Millie Roberts on target.
Nancy Clorley (2), Ruby Lovell and Scarlett Foster-Noble confirmed Hawarden Park’s 4-0 outcome at Brymbo Lodge, while Buckley Town U15s defeated Brickfield Rangers 6-0. Elinor Glantz-Portman (2), Georgia Payne (2), Summer Dakin and Lexi Jones sealed the deal.
In the U14s’ section, Northop Hall pipped FC Brickfield Rangers in a 4-3 thriller.
Jasmine Salem (2), Azaria Prince and Fferrin Gatehouse saw Hall over the line, while Lucy Griffiths (2) and Bella Jones took the hosts close.
Skye Marshall’s four-goal haul helped Ruthin Town to seal a 5-0 success over Coedpoeth United.
Broughton United edged out Buckley Town 2-1 in the U13s’ section thanks to Sienna Carter and Emilia Zieba. Mayah Betney had given Buckley the lead.
Betsan Gwynfor claimed a double hat-trick as Corwen got the better of Northop Hall Dragons 8-0.
The Airbus derby in the U16s’ Cup went the way of the U14s’ side with a 3-2 outcome. Megan Povey (2) and Jessica Noden made sure of the success, as Ellie Frizzell and Olivia England replied.
The New Saints beat Kinmel Bay 4-1 while the popular scoreline in the U14s’ cup was 6-0.
Eva Chalk (2), Amelia Wilkinson, Madison Lee, Annabelle Griffiths and Anesu Mabwe led Brickfield Rangers to victory over Broughton United, while Kacey Plimley (3), Tallulah Wynn (2) and Bethan Burke were the scorers as Brymbo Lodge beat Mynydd Isa.
Hawarden Park, Brickfield Rangers and Northop Hall each gained double-figure victories in the U13s’ cup.
Iona McPhee, Santi Owen, Isla Richards, Mia Pryce, Amelie Cottam, Sophie Dodd, Haf Eldridge and Elle Nursaw-Pearce shared the efforts for Park against FC Brickfield, while there were four-goal hauls from Willow Powell and Harriett Jones for Brickfield Rangers over Brymbo Lodge. Ayse-Aysel Atug and Bella Mattox were also on target.
Sophie Barnes, Brooke Hughes, Lola Bird, Layla Parsonage and Macey Skane were on the mark in Hall’s triumph over Brymbo Lodge Bluebelles, who hit back through Etienne Parsonage.
Despite efforts from Emily Clarkson (2) and Poppy Cole-Jones, Mynydd Isa were edged out 4-3 at Ruthin Town.
In the U12s’ cup, there were double-figure victories for AFC Flint and Mynydd Isa against Northop Hall Falcons and Coedpoeth United respectively.
Indi Jones (4), Anna Reevell (3), Mia Prior, Holly McClafferty and an own goal confirmed things for Flint, while Evelyn Hutchinson, Eva Mae Cartwright, Isabel Melia, Isabelle Walker, Lina-May Lander, Rowan Sowerby and Cora Parry shared the goals for Mynydd Isa. Lily Edwards and Katie Hughes struck for Coedpoeth, while Millie Blackburn netted for Falcons.
Mali Hughes and Seren Frances made sure of Brymbo Lodge’s 2-0 outcome at Acton and there was a thrilling 4-3 success for Northop Hall Jets over Brickfield Rangers.
Doubles from Amelia Phillips and Lauren Antrobus made sure of things for Jets with Victoria Clemerowski (2) and Amelia Generohe-Matharu replying.
