LIV FULLER isn’t a name you would normally connect with goals.
However, the Wrexham midfielder has been making her mark in the final third lately and the Reds will be hoping for more of the same during Sunday’s big Adran Premier encounter away to The New Saints.
Fuller has found the back of the net in four of the last five matches, including key contributions in league victories versus Cardiff Met and Briton Ferry Llansawel.
While her brilliant scoring run ended in last week’s Welsh Cup triumph against Y Felinheli, Fuller did pop up with a couple of assists as Wrexham prevailed 10-0 to stretch their winning run to five matches in all competitions.
Manager Steve Dale told the club’s YouTube channel: “Liv, not normally likely to be on the scoresheet, but credit to her. She’s been getting into them positions and, you know, controlling the game as well from midfield.
“But nice to see her popping up with some goals.”
Another player who is also finding the target on a regular basis is Abbie Iddenden, who has scored in four of her last five matches.
Iddenden “I think I’m starting to find my position in the team and I’m really enjoying, kind of, the team and the atmosphere around it all.
“So, looking forward to the rest of the season, hopefully getting more minutes and helping the team out where I can.”
She now has five goals for the season and Iddenden isn’t just noted for her goalscoring prowess.
Iddenden can boast a tally of eight assists for the campaign.
Dale said: “I think with Abbie, when she came in in the summer, we knew what she could bring. It took us a little while to get her up to speed.
“Obviously, confidence in terms of settling into the team, but credit to her.
“You know, she’s taken off really well and obviously finding the back of the net and, you know, that’s what we’ve brought her in for.”
Cardiff City will be favourites to claim their sixth win of the season when they go to lowly Cardiff Met on Sunday, while Briton Ferry Llansawel play host to Aberystwyth.
Elsewhere, Swansea City make the trip to Barry.
A Flintshire derby is the pick of the encounters in Adran North on Sunday.
Connah’s Quay Nomads, who are second in the table, will play host to fourth-placed Flint Town United.
The local rivals will head into the clash on the back of pushing top flight opponents close in the Adran Trophy.
Anna Marsh was on target as Nomads were edged out 2-1 by holders Cardiff City. Jennifer Haynes and Rosie Hughes struck as Flint lost a thriller 4-2 at Barry.
Leaders Llandudno will pay a visit to Y Felinheli on Sunday, while NFA host Rhyl 1879 and Llanfair United welcome Bangor.
In the North East Wales League, Northop Hall face an away day to Henllan.
Coedpoeth United will entertain Berriew and the remaining match sees Welshpool away to Denbigh Town.
