INJURIES, of course, are part and parcel of the game, but Wrexham have been dealt a tough hand during recent weeks.
It’s fair to say I didn’t anticipate the Reds would be in the top-three with just a month remaining until Christmas, but Phil Parkinson’s side are proving tough to beat, demonstrated by last week’s loss at Stockport being only the third league defeat of the campaign.
And Wrexham have managed to maintain their place amongst the leading lights minus key players at either end of the pitch.
A lack of goals over recent weeks corresponds with top scorer Jack Marriott being out injured and he has been tough to replace. Perhaps the same may have been said immediately following the news of Arthur Okonkwo’s broken wrist, but Callum Burton clutched his opportunity between the sticks with both hands in a man of the match display at Edgley Park.
Now, the Reds face back-to-back Racecourse dates with established League One outfits in Exeter and Lincoln, both in the top-10.
Should Wrexham still be in the top-three at 10pm on Tuesday, it will have been a very good few days.
OUR PREDICTIONS:
WREXHAM 2 EXETER CITY 0 NICK HARRISON
WREXHAM 1 EXETER CITY 0 RICHARD WILLIAMS
WREXHAM 1 EXETER CITY 0 SHAUN DAVIES
THE SCORES SO FAR... NICK HARRISON 14; RICHARD WILLIAMS 13; SHAUN DAVIES 13
