BRICKFIELD RANGERS turn their attentions to cup action against a Llanuwchllyn team who have remarkably won all 10 of their cup ties this season.
Five of those wins have come in the Welsh Cup, including last week’s 3-0 third round victory at home to Swansea University.
Llanuwchllyn, who have also made it through to the last-16 of the Welsh Trophy, head to Rangers looking to make it through to the Ardal North Cup quarter-finals.
“We will be looking to utilise the squad,” said Brickfield boss Gareth Wilson, who will look to keep Llanuwchllyn’s leading scorer Meilir Williams quiet.
“We have a very good squad and the game will be an ideal opportunity for one or two who have not started in the last few weeks.”
Llangollen Town boss Luke Maybury is adopting the same policy for their trip to Radnor Valley.
“We have a few missing but a cup game is a good chance for us to use the whole squad, especially with our reserves not having a game,” said Maybury.
Corwen head to Trearddur Bay, who may still be feeling the after-effects of last Saturday’s Welsh Cup penalty shoot-out exit at Anglesey neighbours Holyhead Hotspur.
Corwen go west in good form on a seven-game unbeaten run.
North West League leaders Porthmadog host Y Felinheli while North East leaders Bow Street head to Llanidloes Town tonight.
Tonight’s other tie is another mid-Wales affair with Llansantffraid at home to Kerry.
Tomorrow’s other ties: NFA v Nantlle Vale; Llanrwst Utd v Llannefydd.
The Two Counties Cup quarter-finals also take place tomorrow and the top clash is at Rhydymwyn where Championship leaders Broughton United are the visitors.
Overton Recreational make the trip to Sychdyn while Johnstown and Deeside Dragons will aim to make home advantage count against Acton and Holywell United respectively.
There’s also one tie in the Mike Beech Memorial Trophy with the reserves sides from Hawarden Rangers and Mynydd Isa going head-to-head.
