WREXHAM will discover who they will face in the EFL Trophy round of 32 when the draw takes place on Friday evening.

Phil Parkinson's side finished top of their group to guarantee a home tie in the second round.

After beating Salford City 2-1 and defeating Wolves under 21s 3-0, Wrexham drew 1-1 at Port Vale last Tuesday to end as group winners despite losing the penalty shoot-out 3-1 and secure a tie at The Racecourse against a second placed club from a different qualifying group.

Wrexham will entertain one of Crewe Alexandra, Huddersfield Town, Lincoln City or Bradford City with the Northern draw split into two separate groups. The competition remains regionalised up to the quarter-final stage.

The draw will take place live on Sky Sports News shortly after 6pm on Friday and will be carried out by former Jamaican international Jobi McAnuff and ex-Queens Park Rangers striker, Jamie Mackie.

Round of 32 ties are scheduled to be played in the week commencing Monday December 9. Knockout games will be settled by penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes until the final, which will feature extra time if necessary.

Wrexham , who won the competition in 2005, also topped their group last season with three victories from three outings but were beaten 3-2 by Burton Albion at The Racecourse in the round of 32.

Midfielder Matty James is pleased that Wrexham have got a tie at The Racecourse, where they are unbeaten in League One this season, to look forward to.

"A home draw in any cup is a massive advantage," said James.

"We will look forward to the draw and see what happens."
