THE wintry weather has disrupted preparations for Saturday's home clash with Exeter City but Phil Parkinson says his players will be ready for action when Wrexham aim to bounce back from defeat.
A large amount of snow fell in the area from Monday evening and the Reds were unable to train on the 4G pitch at Colliers Park in Gresford yesterday as planned.
The players undertook other forms of fitness work but Parkinson hopes to be back training as soon as possible ahead of this weekend's clash with the Grecians at The Racecourse.
"It's a bit frustrating," said Parkinson, who was looking forward to a good week on the training pitch after third placed Wrexham lost 1-0 at Stockport County on Saturday.
"Obviously the grass is out of use at the moment and even the 4G pitch has been out of use at Colliers Park so we struggled yesterday.
"The lads went swimming and did a spin class, and did strength and conditioning work which they normally do on a Tuesday anyway so they got that in.
"The weather is supposed to improve towards the end of the week so hopefully we will be back on the grass preparing for the game."
Parkinson was still hopeful of finding somewhere suitable to train today and is willing to travel if a facility becomes available.
"I am waiting on a few calls," he added. "We have been phoning around every club we know to see if there is any grass pitches we can use.
"We have even called Lilleshall and we have called St George's Park, just determined to get the lads on a bit of grass if we can but at the moment everyone seems to be in the same boat.
"We will travel to get somewhere to train but sometimes things are a bit out of your control with the amount of snow we had.
"We probably didn't expect it to be as bad as it was and sometimes the 4G can get cleared but we haven't been able to do that.
"We want to get a decent week with the lads but we will find a way and make sure that by Saturday, we are prepared well."
