GOALKEEPER Callum Burton is relishing playing at a packed-out Racecourse for the first time when Wrexham host Exeter City tomorrow.
Summer signing Burton has come into the side in place of Arthur Okonkwo who will be out of action for at least six weeks after sustaining a broken wrist.
He put in a man of the match performance on his first League One start when Wrexham suffered a 1-0 defeat at Stockport County last weekend.
Although Burton has made two home appearances for the Reds in the EFL Trophy since arriving from Plymouth Argyle, he is yet to play at the iconic north Wales stadium in the league with a bumper crowd in attendance and the 28-year-old is looking forward to the experience.
"I can't wait," said Burton.
"I love home games for every club that I have played for because I think it gives you that added 12th man behind you and you need that.
"You have seen it this season when things haven't been going well, the fans have got behind us and it has normally paid off at the back end of the game and we have scored a lot of goals at home."
Burton, restricted to four cup appearances for Wrexham before making his league bow at Edgeley Park, has had to bide his time but he is enjoying it at The Racecourse.
"I am loving it here," said Burton. "It is a great group of lads, similar to at Plymouth where it was a real close-knit group. They had been through promotions together like Wrexham.
"All the lads have been amazing from the start and you can see why after every promotion, they have fought again at a higher level and we are again this season.
"Everyone has something to offer in the team and the gaffer and Chris Johnson have done a great job recruiting for League One.
"We just need to make sure we are more consistent going forward."
Burton has been back-up to Okonkwo who was ever-present in the league before the injury but he didn't join Wrexham just to sit on the bench.
"A lot of people see it as 'you're going there as a number two' but I have never seen it like that at any club I have gone to," said Burton.
"Anyone can be told anything when they sign but it is how they apply themselves in training and in the game-time that they get given.
"I just want to play as many games as I can, and play as well as I can to help the team."
Wrexham remain third in the table despite seeing the five-game unbeaten run in the league come to an end at Stockport and Burton is looking to bounce back against ninth placed Exeter.
"You can't go unbeaten all season, it just doesn't happen, but if we can limit the losses which we have done this season," he said.
"As long as we can keep our home form solid which we are and go away and give a good account of ourselves and pick up as many points as we can, I think we will be there or thereabouts."
