DELYTH MORGAN is looking for Wrexham to pick up some silverware this season.

Goalkeeper Morgan was the captain as the Reds eased to a terrific 10-0 success at Adran North Y Felinheli, which made sure Steve Dale’s side made it through to the quarter-finals of the Welsh Cup.

Meanwhile, Wrexham are also through to the latter stages of the Adran Trophy and they can look forward to a last-eight clash with fellow Adran Premier side Barry.

“Look, we want to get as far as we can in both cup competitions,” Morgan told the club’s YouTube channel.

“We want silverware this year.

“Like, our aim is to win a trophy this year and, obviously, we got to the final of the Welsh Cup last season and we were very close to getting something out of it.

“So, we’re itching to go do one better this year.”

Wrexham, looking to record their fifth consecutive victory in all competitions, quickly took control of their tie at Y Felinheli.

They went in front after 17 minutes.

Rosie Hughes’ effort towards goal was saved by Catrin Beech, but Ava Suckley was there to tuck home the rebound.

It was Wrexham - and Suckley - at the double a quarter-of-an-hour later.

This time, Rebecca Pritchard came up with the assist and Suckley did the rest with her third goal of the campaign.

Whatever was said in the Reds’ changing room at the interval certainly worked a treat.

Two goals in the first five minutes of the second half worked to put the tie to bed.

Just three minutes after the restart, Liv Fuller’s set piece was fired in by Katie Sharp.

It was then four-nil within two minutes as Amber Lightfoot provided the centre and Brooke Cairns’ superb strike picked out the back of the net.

There was to be no resting on their laurels for the Reds, who went on the hunt for further goals as the half developed.

Rosie Hughes’ cheeky backheel finish from Lili Jones’ corner sparked a seven-minute spell that produced four goals.

Pritchard and Lightfoot opened their accounts for the afternoon, before Sharp’s second goal of the contest made it eight-nil with a quarter-of-an-hour left to play.

Hughes made it nine late on and Suckley completed her hat-trick in the last minute.

The New Saints won 6-0 at Llandudno, while Aberystwyth Town got the better of NFA 8-0.

Other results: Johnstown 0 Pontypridd 3; Caldicot 2 Barry 2 (Barry win 4-2 on penalties); Cardiff City 2 Cascade 1; Penydarren 1 Briton Ferry Llansawel 11; Carmarthen 0 Swansea 3.

Airbus lost out 7-0 at Pwllheli in the North Wales League’s Betty Pickering Cup.

On Friday evening, Wrexham defeated Connah’s Quay Nomads 2-0 in the Adran U19s’ North League.

Seren Cashen and Grace Morris were on the scoresheet.
