BUCKLEY TOWN’S quest in this season’s Welsh Girls Football U16s’ Cup came to a halt with their loss at home to Holyhead Hotspur.
Darra Craig grabbed the goal for Buckley in a 3-1 reverse.
Casey Armstrong struck four times as Acton U14s defeated Corwen U15s 8-1 in the North East Wales Girls U16s’ Cup.
Doubles from Maisie Smith and Chloe Ridley added to Acton’s tally, while Charlotte Flanagan responded for Corwen.
There was also a four-goal haul for Grace Thomas as The New Saints prevailed 5-0 at Northop Hall Jets U15s. Arabella Rees grabbed the other.
Goals from Talitha Prydden, Ocea Williams and Charlotte Olley-Madriaga made sure of a 3-2 triumph for Brymbo Lodge at Berriew, who hit back via Manon Parry and Skye Mackie.
In the U14s’ cup, Sienna Hall grabbed four goals in Mynydd Isa’s thrilling 6-3 success versus FC Brickfield Rangers.
Sioned Jones and Amelie May Knight also struck for Isa, as Lucy Griffiths (2) and Leila Ellis made a real game of it.
The meeting between Brickfield Rangers and Brymbo Lodge ended up in a 2-2 draw. Kacey Plimley’s brace salvaged a share of the spoils, after Ellie Beth Walton and Amelia Wilkinson had Rangers two-up.
U13s’ division leaders Northop Hall dropped points for the first time this season with their 1-1 draw versus Hawarden Park, who also lost their 100 per cent winning record.
Mia Pryce’s opener for Park was cancelled out by Macey Skane.
Another side to lose their unbeaten record were Mynydd Isa, with fourth-placed Brickfield Rangers gaining a 5-0 success. Willow Powell (3), Harriet Jones and Bella Lucy Mattox sealed the deal.
Ellie-May Smith grabbed a hat-trick in Broughton United’s 6-1 outcome at Brymbo Lodge, who had Libby Gibson on the scoresheet. Niamh Collins (2) and Isabelle Muckley also struck for United.
Josephine Tunnicliffe, Amelia Clark and Josselen Jefferies made sure of Brymbo Lodge Bluebelles’ 3-2 triumph over Corwen, who had gone two-up through Eli Beth Ellis and Moli Mai Thomas.
Mayah Betney and Esme Moore led Buckley Town in their 2-0 success over FC Brickfield, while Ruthin Town prevailed 8-0 against Northop Hall Dragons. Llinos Brixey (2), Ffion Emanuel (2), Lotti Jones, Anna Morgan, Mia Jane Kell and Efa Whittam were on the mark.
Two matches went ahead in the U16s’ division and the closest of these witnessed a 1-0 outcome for third-placed Airbus U14s versus Hawarden Park. Jessica-Jayne Noden grabbed the all-important goal.
Five-goal Lexi Walsh inspired unbeaten Kinmel Bay to a 9-0 success at battling Northop Hall. Shanie-May Fleming (3) and Scarlett Gregson concluded the scoring.
