MARK ALLEN would like to see his Airbus side embark on a good Welsh Cup run this season.
The Wingmakers, who are four points clear at the top of Cymru North, will turn their attention to the national knockout competition tomorrow as they host Ardal South East League Goytre.
While he is looking forward to being at home, Airbus boss Allen is not taking the lower league visitors lightly.
“We would like a Welsh Cup run, but our next hurdle is Goytre AFC,” he told the club’s website.
“I’m sure they will be coming to win the game and challenge for the next round so will have to prepare right and be ready for the match, with the result that we go through.”
Airbus, who got the better of Ardal North West League Porthmadog 2-0 in the last round, are a dangerous proposition in attack this season - demonstrated by the fact they have netted 56 goals in only 14 league matches.
One player who is in form is James Davies, who helped himself to a hat-trick in last week’s 4-0 league success against Denbigh Town.
“Delighted for James,” added Allen. “He looked a real threat tonight for the whole game and no-one would have been surprised if he’d have ended up with more goals.
“He’s been linking up well with Jordan (Evans) and George (Peers) in games and the effect tonight was his goals.
“He has an energy at the moment on and off the pitch, so long may it continue as we go into November.”
