THINGS have ended up just gr-eight for North East Wales League U19s’ division leaders Coedpoeth United.
They maintained their perfect record for the campaign via an 8-0 success away to Rhostyllen.
Tomos Williams led the way with a hat-trick and further efforts from James Willis (2), Joe Colley, Iwan Bennett and Callum Roberts helped United to make it 11 wins out of 11.
Second-placed Broughton United had to be satisfied with a point from their 1-1 outcome with FC Coedpoeth, who took the lead through Harry Richardson. Riley Edwards’ 89th minute response hauled Broughton level.
Honours were also even as Buckley Town and Hawarden played out a 0-0 draw, while Rhos Aelwyd got the better of FC Plas Madoc 2-0. Efforts from Tiago Ceita and Dario D’abreu sealed the deal.
Switching focus to the U17s’ division and the three matches played produced 19 goals.
That bumper tally was realised despite a narrow 1-0 win for Chirk AAA against Brickfield Rangers, confirmed by Tommy McArdle’s early strike.
Nine was the key number for leaders Gresford Athletic. Win number nine for the season was secured by a 9-1 success at Broughton United Super Saints, who hit back through Jake McGill.
Alexander Cooper (2), Oscar Synnerdahl-Evans, Kacper Gziut, Sam Bryan, Charlie Keay, Charlie Manning, Rhys Evans and Oliver Tomkinson shared the goals for Athletic.
Elsewhere, Mold Alex managed to get the better of Aston Park Rangers 5-3.
Strikes from Cameron Lea (2), Joseph Delaney, Osian Phillips and Matthew Cross won it, as Alex Brennan, Finley Stokes and Rhys Chester made a real game of it.
