IT may have ended up being a losing weekend for Wrexham, but a bonus point could well turn out to be crucial in the final reckoning.
Wrexham appeared on course for a point-less afternoon when hosts Llandudno built-up a 26-13 lead with less than 10 minutes remaining.
However, Callum Riordan grabbed a crucial try in the last minute and Jacob Hughes’ successful conversion made sure of a losing bonus point.
It was all about penalties in the opening half-an-hour, as three kicks had Llandudno ahead. Hughes kicked a three-pointer for Wrexham, while there was a dramatic end to the first half.
Llandudno stretched their lead with a converted try, while Scott Leckie’s 39th minute try was converted by Hughes.
Hughes’ penalty cut the deficit to three points a quarter-of-an-hour into the second period, only for a converted try and penalty to pull Llandudno clear.
