CHESHIRE PHOENIX can finally start their Super League Basketball campaign this weekend.
Following a fine start to the season in the trophy competition, with Cheshire topping the North group, Ben Thomas’ side will open their league tilt away to Bristol Flyers tonight. This will then be followed by the first home league match of the season, against Sheffield Sharks on Sunday.
One of their key players, Cam Holden, is looking forward to the campaign.
The second year pro told the Super League Basketball website: “I’ve worked all summer to improve my game and my body.
“We lost a bunch of guys from last year who had big roles in the team and I knew going into the summer that I was capable of filling those spots, but that I needed to put in the work to be ready.”
Tonight’s other fixture: Leicester v Sheffield. Tomorrow: Surrey v Caledonia. Sunday: London v Newcastle.
