WREXHAM wing-back Ryan Barnett has been recognised for his efforts by being nominated for the League One Player of the Month award.

Back-to-back promotion winner Barnett has been in brilliant form this season for Phil Parkinson's men, with the 25-year-old proving to be a real threat down the right flank.

As well as those surging runs, Barnett has delivered pinpoint crosses and he helped to set up five of Wrexham’s seven October goals.

He was unplayable in the 4-1 win against Northampton Town on October 5 when he had three assists and a hand in the goal to deservedly scoop the man of the match award.

Barnett, who played his part in Wrexham sitting third in the table after 13 games, is nominated alongside Willum Willumsson (Birmingham City), Matty Pearson (Huddersfield Town) and Kwame Poku (Peterborough United).

Barnett will be aiming to emulate his Wrexham boss Parkinson who won the League One Manager of the Month award for August.

The October nominations for the League One Manager of the Month award are Matt Bloomfield (Wycombe Wanderers), Nigel Clough (Mansfield Town), Garry Monk (Cambridge United) and Ruben Selles (Reading).
