PHIL PARKINSON hopes Jordan Davies picks up where he left off for Grimsby Town and the midfielder gets more game-time during his spell at Blundell Park.
Davies joined the Mariners on a season-long loan from Wrexahm but was forced off with a hamstring injury after just 12 minutes in the 4-1 League Two defeat at Notts County on August 22, ruling him out of action for three months.
It was just his fourth appearance for Grimsby with the 26-year-old catching the eye when he scored twice in a 3-2 win against Cheltenham Town earlier in the month.
Reds' boss Parkinson had good news to report on Davies who he hopes is back in action for the Mariners - managed by ex-Wrexham defender Dave Artell with former Reds' captain Shaun Pearson the assistant - very soon.
"Jordan did the first part of his rehab here until we got him back running and doing bits of football," said Parkinson about Davies, a back-to-back promotion with home-town club Wrexham.
"Now he's been passed back to Grimsby because he can start joining in with some training so he is back over there.
"Jordan is looking in good shape. He worked hard on his rehab.
"We are monitoring all the players out on loan and we hope Jordan can get back in and get some game time.
"He only played a couple of games before the injury but he had that one outstanding game where he scored two goals which we know Jordan can do.
"Unfortunately he got the bad injury against Notts County and we just hope between now and January, he gets some valuable minutes."
Parkinson is currently without long-term injury victims George Evans and Jack Marriott but Steven Fletcher is closing in on a return while the Wrexham manager revealed why centre-back Lewis Brunt wasn't included in the squad for Sunday's 1-0 FA Cup first round defeat at Harrogate Town.
"Fletch is back on the grass so we will try and progress him this week," added Parkinson.
"Brunty had a stomach bug. When a player is ill it is important to keep them away from the rest of the group so it doesn't spread."
