STEVE DALE was delighted Wrexham managed to right a few Adran Premier League wrongs after ending Briton Ferry Llansawel’s unbeaten start to the season.

The Reds were well beaten 3-0 at Briton Ferry earlier in the campaign, but Wrexham managed to turn the tables with a three-nil outcome of their own in the return encounter at The Rock.

Manager Dale told the club’s YouTube channel: “Over the moon! I think it’s been a long time coming.

“You know, we’ve been wanting to kickstart the season for a long time. Results haven’t been going our way.

“Performances have, but it was nice to sort of put the wrongs right from the last game against Briton Ferry and I thought it was a very well-earned three points.”

The Reds were on top from the off and two goals in the space of four minutes put the hosts in control.

The deadlock was broken in the 12th minute as Abbie Iddenden netted for the third game running.

Soon after, a terrific strike from distance by Lili Jones doubled the advantage.

Reflecting on the fast start, Dale added: “The last couple of games, we’ve started really well, been on the front foot in terms of intensity and putting teams under pressure, and it was key that we did that today.

“You know, we utilised the pitch. We moved the ball really well in the opening 15 minutes and rightly got the two early goals.

“At times, turned it into a little bit of a game that they preferred in terms of the scrap and the battle. But, we had to stand up to it and we did that today, and, obviously, we’ve done enough to get the three points.”

The New Saints returned to second spot in the Adran Premier courtesy of their 1-0 triumph at Aberystwyth Town.

Polly Wild-McGregor is looking for Connah’s Quay Nomads to win this season’s Adran North title.

Nomads maintained their perfect start to the league season with a 4-0 success against Rhyl 1879 and Wild-McGregor was one of the players on target.

She told the Adran Leagues website: “I think we have got to do it this season. The team has a great bond and in my opinion, this is the strongest we have ever been.

“Winning the league is our number one priority and we feel we are ready to make the jump up to the Genero Adran Premier.”
