HOME advantage didn’t help Wrexham and Mold in Division One.
Wrexham tackled third-placed Pwllheli in their latest contest and it was the side from Gwynedd that recorded a 34-17 success.
Two tries in the first 26 minutes, one of which was converted, saw Pwllheli build up a 12-0 advantage.
Wrexham hit back after half-an-hour through Tom Walker’s try, but a further try for the visitors two minutes later restored the 12-point gap.
Three tries in the opening 20 minutes of the second period saw the visitors pull clear.
Wrexham did finish on the front foot, though, with Donnacha Fitzpatrick’s score being converted by Jacob Hughes and skipper Jack Harrison claimed a try with three minutes left.
Mold lost out 38-22 in their meeting versus Bala.
There was a bonus point from the home side’s four-try showing, with Michael Roberts, Matthew Liversage, Richard Hopkins and Calum Say all crossing the whitewash. Seth Geary kicked one conversion.
Leaders Nant Conwy won 83-7 at Denbigh, while second-placed Caernarfon triumphed 36-10 away to Bethesda.
In the closest match, Llandudno pipped Llangefni 24-20 and Ruthin suffered a 22-13 reverse to COBRA.
In Division Three North East, Wrexham Athletic’s unbeaten run was ended by their 25-22 loss at Mold Athletic.
T Hellen claimed two of the Mold tries, with Jordan Rogers making sure of a brace of scores for Wrexham.
Llanidloes replaced Wrexham at the top of the standings after they picked up a 20-10 outcome at Bro Gwernant.
Elsewhere, COBRA Athletic got the better of Ruthin Athletic 26-5.
Division Two North leaders Welshpool eased to a 57-10 success at home to Rhyl & District. Colwyn Bay, in second, prevailed 31-27 versus Newtown, while there were also wins for Machynlleth and Nant Conwy Athletic.
Machynlleth defeated Caernarfon Athletic 24-10 and Nant got the better of Abergele 38-21.
