MICHAEL WILDE praised Flint Mountain for the way they made his Colwyn Bay side battle for their ninth consecutive league success.

Aden Shannon’s charges were edged out 2-1 by the title-chasing Seagulls, who were forced to recover from an early shock.

After just three minutes, Rob Hughes supplied the pass for Jack Parry to nudge Mountain into the lead.

However, goals from Craig Lindfield and Jamie Cumming turned things around.

Manager Wilde told the Bay YouTube channel: “I thought it was a different way of winning a football game today.

“We’ve obviously come across a really good Flint Mountain team with really good individuals.

“Were we at our best? No... however, we’ve got to find a way to sometimes win ugly and I thought that’s what it was.

“So, it’s sometimes pleasing and we can’t expect it to always go our way and, as I say, credit to Flint.

“They were really good tonight and caused us several problems.”

Leaders Airbus maintained their four-point advantage at the top with a 4-1 success at home to Bangor 1876.

Mark Allen’s side enjoyed a flying start and after just three minutes, James Davies set up Jordan Evans for the opener.

It was 2-0 close to half-time and Bangor were down to 10 men.

Tom Clarke was sent off for a foul in the box on Kaiden Cooke and Danny Warren tucked away the ensuing penalty for his 13th goal of the season.

Oli Lanceley scored from another penalty award as Airbus stretched their lead after the interval and Sam Baker’s fine strike from 25 yards settled matters.

Dale Davies headed in a Bangor consolation.

Holywell Town returned to form with a 5-1 success at home to Ruthin Town.

Gwion Owen’s early penalty had Ruthin ahead, but it was all about Johnny Haseldin’s defending champions after this.

Danny Andrews headed home from Jamie Breese’s centre to level things up and Gareth Evans set up Breese for a goal early in the second half.

Breese, Danny Sullivan and Danny Andrews put the icing on the cake as Holywell recorded an eighth win of the campaign to return to the top-three.

Joshua Astley’s four-goal haul helped Caersws to thrash Prestatyn Town 8-0.

George Mitton, Craig Harris, Callum Francis-Jones and an own goal concluded the scoring for Caersws, who are sixth in the standings and they are within sight of the top-three.

Meanwhile, Guilsfield edged out Denbigh Town 4-3 in a thrilling encounter.

Sean Jones’ stoppage time strike settled it for the Mid Walians, who also had James Smallwood and Jamie Hyne (2) on target. Owen Davies (2) and Sam Duffy struck for Denbigh.
