CONNAH’S QUAY TIGERS secured their place in the last-16 of the NEWFA U13s Cup with a 4-2 win at Saltney Town.
Lennon Williams and Jayden Collister scored for the hosts but Kayden Johnson’s treble and goalkeeper Olly Bennett’s effort put the Tigers through.
In the North East Wales U15s League Cup, Borras Park Albion Yellows won a thriller, 5-4 against Ruthin Town.
Thomas Gaulton (2), Casey Messham and two own goals sealed the deal with Jacob Lloyd (2), Teddy Lewis and Kady Townson replying.
Tyler Wilson, Samuel Mottershead and Finley Duckett were Lex XI’s scorers in a 3-0 success over Mynydd Isa while Mold Alex Pumas won 4-1 at Cefn United thanks to Jack Parry (2), Alfie Campbell and Louis Boulton. Iwan Wills hit back for Cefn.
Coedpoeth United Celts are also through after Jaydn Harding, Owen Burke, Lewis Capper and Corey Jones scored in a 4-2 defeat of Chirk, who replied through Nathan Ellis and Rhys Clarke.
In the U15s Shield, Holywell Town were 6-4 winners against AFC Flint for whom Leo Elliott (3) and Ethan Williams made a real game of it.
Bobby Poole hit a hat-trick for the winners who also had Tristan Brown, Oscar Roberts and Sonny Jones on the scoresheet.
Alex Ravenscroft (2) and Joshua Carter netted in Broughton United’s 5-1 win at Halkyn United for whom Ewan Leonard replied.
David Mlynarski’s hat-trick helped Brickfield Rangers to a 4-2 win at FC Gresford Athletic while Gresford’s other side bowed out 2-1 at Buckley Town for whom Finlay Meredith grabbed both.
In the U16s Cup, Rhys Roberts (3), Connor Morris-Jones (2), Jay Rigby, Joseph Evans and Oliver Tyndall scored in Connah’s Quay Town’s 8-0 win at Rhos Aelwyd.
Holywell Town beat Mynydd Isa 3-0 thanks to Jacob Duffy, Joey Robinson and Louis Davies while Aston Park Rangers beat Ruthin Town 4-1 thanks to goals from Kyle Molyneux (2), Lennon Young and Harrison Pendrey.
Unlucky Jayden Williams ended up on the losing side in Division Three of the North East Wales U16s League.
Williams grabbed a hat-trick as FC Queens Park were pipped 5-4 by Deeside Dragons Fire, who won it through Dominic Walsh (2), Kai Spencer (2) and Noman Aziz. Marcus Williams netted Park’s other goal.
Rhys Golby (2), Alan Szatkowski and Saidou Jallow guided Brymbo Lodge to a 4-1 outcome over Coedpoeth United, who hit back through Eddie Somerville-Cox, while Broughton United were 4-2 victors at Holywell Town. Liam Ray Powell (3) and Thomas Poyner sealed the deal, as Harvey Roberts and Finlay Rooke-Hart kept Holywell interested.
Brendan Pemberton’s four-goal haul was the highlight of Marchwiel’s 7-1 success at Penycae. Leon Wilkinson (2) and Ethan Jones added to the tally, and Jayden Buckley supplied Penycae’s response.
In league two, Harri Thomas (3), Morgan Jones (2) and Owen Jones fired Llay United to a 6-0 triumph versus Lex.
Turning to league one in the U15s’ section and AFC Flint just pipped leaders Rhos Aelwyd 3-2.
Goals from Robert Ballantyne, Oliver Hargreaves and Frankie Harper made sure of the triumph, with Ollie Jones and Finley Williams keeping the away side interested.
