THERE was double joy for Kieran Taylor as North Wales Crusaders marked the 2024 campaign.
The club’s awards evening was held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, in Wrexham and Taylor bagged two of the awards on offer during the evening, the supporters’ player of the year and the try of the season accolades.
The event celebrated all areas of the Crusaders, from the men’s and women’s first-teams through to the wheelchair teams and community foundation.
Jack Holmes was named as the coach’s player of the season, with club captain Chris Barratt taking the players’ player of the year accolade.
Joe Baldwin was named as the Jaxon Langford young player of the season and the Jacqui Walker most contributed to the club accolade went to Jon Burgess.
The awards do also saw a focus on the career of head coach Carl Forster, who brought the curtain down on his illustrious playing career at the end of the season.
In fitting fashion, Forster’s final match as a player saw him score a try in a victory versus Cornwall.
He will now focus on his role as head coach having penned a new two-year-deal with the club.
