GEORGE DOBSON is hoping Wrexham's recent good form in the FA Cup rubs off on him!
Phil Parkinson's men are among the League One leaders but switch their attention to the famous cup competition on Sunday and a first round clash with Harrogate Town, who sit 17th in League Two, at Wetherby Road.
Wrexham have reached the fourth round in each of the last two seasons, claiming the scalp of Championship outfit Coventry City in 2022-23, but Dobson, who spent three seasons with Charlton Athletic prior to joining the Reds last summer, has found cup joy hard to come by in his career.
"I have never done well in the FA Cup," admitted the 26-year-old.
"I had a good run in the Carabao Cup when I was at Charlton and we got to the quarter-finals and lost to Manchester United but not the FA Cup.
"I know the club has done well in the FA Cup the last couple of years so hopefully we can do that again."
The league is the priority for back-to-back promotion winners Wrexham but Dobson insists the FA Cup is not a distraction.
"Definitely not," he added.
"We have got a huge squad so there's going to be a lot of players hopefully getting some minutes.
"It is a great opportunity to get to the third round and have a really good game hopefully against a big boy."
