ARTHUR OKONKWO is not fazed by returning to the scene of his injury fright when Wrexham head to Harrogate Town in Sunday's FA Cup first round tie.

The goalkeeper, then on-loan from Arsenal before making the move permanent in the summer, broke his jaw when Phil Parkinson's men faced the Sulphurites at Wetherby Road in League Two on November 28 last year.

He had to be substituted at half-time and underwent minor surgery, although the 23-year-old only missed three league and cup matches before returning to the side for the 2-0 Welsh derby win at home to Newport County on December 23 when he played with a protective face mask.

Wrexham are now in League One after clinching a second promotion in a row and Okonkwo was quickly reminded of the incident by his team-mates when the FA Cup draw was made.

"The place has history, it's where I broke my jaw," said Okonkwo, who helped Wrexham reach the fourth round of the competition last season where they lost 4-1 to Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

"It's something the boys mentioned when we heard the draw, 'remember Arthur, you broke your jaw there', but that won't be on my mind, absolutely not.

"I am excited to be back in the FA Cup and it should be a really good game, we are looking forward to it.

"Hopefully we have a good run again this season but we are not thinking too far ahead."

Okonkwo jumped at the chance to return to north Wales when he left Arsenal at the end of last season and he has helped Wrexham emerge as one of the pacesetters in League One.

The Reds' stopper is happy with how things are going.

"It is like home now," added Okonkwo.

"I have enjoyed every moment, the wins and the losses, the ups and downs.

"Things are getting harder to when I was here last season because we are in a higher division but I am still really enjoying it. I am really happy to be involved."
