LEAGUE action was put on the back-burner as clubs turned their focus towards the cup.
Wrexham’s run in this season’s Welsh Division One Cup was ended by a 20-7 home loss at the hands of Ruthin.
It was the hosts who made the better start and Lloyd Roberts’ try was converted by Jacob Hughes to put Wrexham 7-0 ahead after half-an-hour.
However, two unconverted tries from Ruthin turned things around to hand them a seven-point advantage by the break.
Two further unconverted tries sealed the deal for Ruthin in the second half.
Division One North leaders Nant Conwy progressed with a 33-0 verdict at Bala, while Caernarfon got the better of Bethesda 22-10.
Mold Athletic made it through in the Division Five Cup courtesy of a walkover win against Bethesda Athletic.
That was also the case for Llangefni Athletic versus Bangor.

In the Division Three Cup, Dolgellau pipped Abergele 19-18, Newtown saw off Colwyn Bay 41-18 and Rhyl & District were defeated 38-14 at home to Nant Conwy Athletic. Caernarfon Athletic progressed with their walkover against Machynlleth.
In Super Rugby Cymru action, RGC suffered a heavy 62-7 loss at Newport.
RGC’s try was scored by Sam Earl-Jones, with Billy McBryde kicking the conversion.
