HOLYWELL TOWN boss Johnny Haseldin says his side is committed to making a return to form ahead of tonight’s big Flintshire showdown away to leaders Airbus.

The Wellmen came out on top in an epic battle for the title last season, with their only league defeat over the course of the campaign coming in a 2-1 loss to the Wingmakers in December.

Although they’re in the top-three once more, Holywell have lost four of their last five matches and Haseldin said: “We have had a frustrating and difficult few weeks results wise.

“It’s not something we have become used to at Holywell Town FC over recent years.

“I think you’ve just got to enjoy the good times and make sure you don’t get too low during the times when things aren’t going for you.

“The support for the lads has been unbelievable during this time and we are fully committed to turning things around and putting smiles on people’s faces.”

Airbus have triumphed in 10 of their 11 matches so far this season and boss Mark Allen is keen to secure another three-point haul.

He told the club’s X site: “Obviously, it’s a big game.

“We want to win it, so we’ll prepare as we normally do and make sure that everyone’s right and fit, and then go over the details of the match we want to plan, so to speak, and then go and execute it we hope.”

A solid 90-minute display will be the aim for Gresford Athletic as they play host to Penrhyncoch tomorrow.

Eddie Maurice-Jones produced an excellent display to lead Flint at the halfway point of last week’s Welsh Cup match-up and the Gresford boss will be looking for more of the same.

“We just need to sustain it for 90 minutes,” he said.

“We have got issues we need to improve on. When we’re on top of teams, we need to capitalise. That’s been our downfall this season.

“We want to compete with the teams at the top, but we know we have to be realistic as well.

“The teams around us, they’re the teams we need to be beating.”

Reflecting on last week’s cup contest, Maurice-Jones added: “We were unbelievable for 45, 55 minutes.

“It was only a matter of time before Flint go into their stride.

“I felt for them, because they worked really, really hard and it was a shame.”

Dominic Deacon and Joe Ormerod will return for Gresford, but Charley Edge is out.

Tonight, in-form Colwyn Bay host Prestatyn Town and Llandudno head to Denbigh. Tomorrow, Ruthin welcome Guilsfield and Bangor 1876 are away to Caersws.
