CHESTER’S long stretch of not conceding a goal at the Deva Stadium has come to an end.
Calum McIntyre’s Blues were beaten 1-0 in their home National League North meeting with Buxton.
Buxton took the lead after a quarter-of-an-hour as Ethan Fitzhugh found the target.
That was the first goal conceded by the Blues at the Deva Stadium since they defeated Scarborough 3-2 way back on August 26.
Cian Coleman was close to adding a second goal soon after, while the Blues threatened with Charlie Caton’s effort being saved.
Kurt Willoughby and Iwan Murray had other attempts prior to the break, while George Glendon’s header was pushed against the crossbar right at the start of the second half.
Chester were awarded a penalty with a quarter-of-an-hour left for a foul on Tom Peers.
However, Willoughby’s spot kick was tipped against the post.
