ARTHUR OKONKWO is racking up the clean sheets but the goalkeeper says wins are more important in Wrexham's quest for an unprecedented third successive promotion.

The 23-year-old, who made the move to The Racecourse from Arsenal permanent in the summer following a successful loan spell with the Reds last season, kept his seventh shut-out in 12 League One outings as the Reds drew 0-0 at home to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday.

It's been an impressive start to the campaign by Okonkwo who has only conceded eight goals but winning matches is his priority.

"Last season I joined in late and it's good to have a good start this time," said Okonkwo.

"Hopefully the clean sheets keep coming but the most important thing for us is the results.

"Our main target as a team is to get promoted again so we need wins and that is my main focus."

Okonkwo, who kept 16 clean sheets last term as Wrexham finished runners-up in League Two to clinch a second promotion in a row, refuses to take all the credit for the Reds being tough to score against.

"The defence has been incredible," he said. "The clean sheets we've had shows how good they have been.

"Everyone has been amazing, done their jobs and we have looked so organised.

"It's not only down to me but the defenders in front of me and the players involved in the set-pieces."

Defences were on top as Wrexham and Huddersfield created few clear cut chances, with the Reds' 100 per cent home record coming to an end following the stalemate.

"We are in-between happy and frustrated," said Okonkwo.

"We did really well defensively and it is always good to get a clean sheet.

"Huddersfield made it really difficult for us. They did their jobs really well, they were good defensively and we just couldn't manage to score.

"I felt like I was a fan watching in front. It was a bit frustrating that we were not able to get a goal but that's football.

"We were frustrated not to get a result but we move on and get ready for a big test against Charlton on Saturday.

"Another good game, it will be a difficult one again but hopefully we can get a result."
