PHIL PARKINSON is set to strengthen his squad with the addition of a free agent after seeing a second Wrexham striker sidelined through injury.
Leading scorer Jack Marriott suffered a broken leg following an innocuous incident in training last Thursday and will be out of action for action for at least four months.
Parkinson has been dealt a further blow after Steven Fletcher sustained a knee problem and missed Tuesday night's goalless draw with Huddersfield Town at The Racecourse in League One.
The Reds' boss has not put a timeline on when former Scotland international Fletcher will be available but he is short of bodies in attack.
Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer started up front against Huddersfield with Mo Faal coming off the bench in the second half for his Wrexham league debut, and although captain James McClean has previously played as a striker, Parkinson is light in that position.
"We've had a little bit of disruption in the last week or so with Jack and then Fletch's knee flaring up over the weekend," said Parkinson.
"Fletch has got a problem so that is a real blow for us with Jack being out and Fletch going down.
"But it happens and when you have injuries, you can't moan about it too much because we have got other players like Mo who has been waiting for his chance.
"There are other players who are ready and waiting and while Fletch comes back, we will make sure we keep getting the results and keep ourselves hopefully at the right end of the table.
"We have just got to stick together while we are a bit short in certain areas on the pitch.
"Concentrate on getting the results and working as a team because that is what we are all about."
Parkinson said after Saturday's 1-0 win at Rotherham United that he was not looking to sign a replacement for Marriott but that has now changed with Fletcher also absent.
Clubs are only allowed to bring in free agents until the winter transfer window opens in January and the Reds' boss is exploring his options.
"We are obviously looking at that with Jack's injury and then Fletch was an additional blow," added Parkinson.
"We are looking at a couple of options."
