SAM DALBY is up and running for Dundee United.

The 24-year-old striker arrived at Tannadice Park on a season-long loan from Wrexham on the final day of the summer transfer window, teaming up with former Reds' frontman Louis Moult.

Recruited by Phil Parkinson from Southend United for an undisclosed fee in August 2022, Dalby helped Wrexham secure back-to-back promotions for the first time in the club's history but he found opportunities limited early on in 2024-25.

After failing to find the net in his opening five league and cup games for newly-promoted Scottish Premiership side Dundee United, Dalby opening the scoring in Saturday's 3-2 home win against strugglers Hibernian as The Tangerines climbed up to fourth in the table.

Two more strikers left The Racecourse on loan deals before the transfer window closed, joining clubs in the National League.

Billy Waters has struck twice in eight league appearances for seventh placed Halifax Town while Jake Bickerstaff has played five games for Altrincham, who are 14th, but is still looking to open his account for the Robins.
