PART one was successfully negotiated and Wrexham are now aiming to make it two wins out of two when they face Huddersfield Town at The Racecourse tonight in League One.

Reds' boss Phil Parkinson spoke about a monumental hat-trick of fixtures for the club with his side facing Rotherham United, Huddersfield and Charlton Athletic in the space of eight days.

Wrexham kicked off the block of games with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Rotherham on Saturday and the Reds now host the Terriers - another side relegated from the Championship last season - before heading to former Premier League outfit Charlton on Saturday.

Parkinson is hoping to build on the weekend win which kept Wrexham second in the table, two points behind leaders Birmingham City.

"What a week for us - Rotherham, Huddersfield and Charlton - and we are revelling in it being at this level," said Parkinson.

"We can't start it off any better than we've done and we are really pleased with the win at Rotherham.

"As always we will just keep our feet on the ground and we will be ready for what will be a terrific night at The Racecourse.

"Huddersfield were a team in the Premier League not so long ago and they are a good club but that is why we have worked so hard to be at this level because we want to test ourselves against the very best.

"This week was always going to be a test for us but we have come through the first stage of it with flying colours."

Paul Mullin scored the only goal at Rotherham after just 16 seconds when he got on the end of Ryan Barnett's cross.

Barnett, brought in from Solihull Moors in February 2023, has been in outstanding form this season and Parkinson says the wing-back is proving to be an excellent signing.

"Barney has played well ever since he has been with us," added the Reds' boss. "He is an outstanding talent.

"His crossing is a delight for strikers. You need players who are going to get on the end of it but putting it into those areas is almost undefendable.

"Not just that with Barney, he is playing so well without the ball for us as well.

"He understands the game tactically because that is so important in the system that we play.

"Obviously his main game is the threat in the final third and he gives teams something to worry about.

"Rotherham changed the personnel to play with another player in front of him but it didn't stop him."
