RAMPANT Wrexham are on the march once more in the Welsh Cup.
Steve Dale’s charges, who reached the final last season, made it through to the last-16 with a comfortable 11-0 win at North West Wales League Llanystumdwy.
The Reds were on top in the first half and it took them just 11 minutes to get their noses in front.
Ava Suckley had already hit the post for Wrexham prior to Amber Lightfoot finding the target.
Striking from distance was an obvious ploy from the visitors, with Carra Jones firing just wide with an attempt, while Liv Fuller’s effort was dealt with by Sara Lacey.
However, a second goal did arrive with 10 minutes of the first half remaining as Fuller’s effort from range hit the back of the net.
It was game over when Wrexham added their third goal after 53 minutes.
Brooke Cairns got on the end of a cross to stretch the lead, while Rebecca Pritchard and Nat Clarke added a fourth and fifth around the hour mark.
Other goals came from Cairns, Phoebe Davies, Abbie Iddenden (2) and Rosie Hughes (2).
Airbus are out following their 3-1 loss at NFA, Ffion Jones grabbing a late consolation for the visitors.
Connah’s Quay Nomads departed the competition with a 5-3 penalty shootout loss to Llandudno following a 3-3 draw.
Jordan Parry’s Quay had already got the better of the Seasiders in the Adran Trophy earlier in the campaign, but Llandudno made the most of efforts from Ella Jones and Rebecca Jarvis-Evans to build-up a two-goal buffer in the first half.
In a brilliant turnaround, Anna Marsh (2) and Polly Wild-McGregor had Quay in the lead, only for Jasmin Dutton’s late spot kick to take the tie to penalties.
Other results: Rhyl 1879 0 Aberystwyth 8; Pwllheli 0 The New Saints 6; Swansea Uni 1 Carmarthen 5; Pontypridd 1 Penybont 0; Cardiff Met 0 Barry 5; Penclawdd 2 Cardiff City 6; Cambrian 2 Johnstown 5.
In the Adran U19s’ League, The New Saints triumphed 5-1 at Newtown.
Connah’s Quay Nomads will be able to test themselves against the best in the next round of the Adran Trophy.
Quay, who claimed three wins out of three in the group stage, play host to holders Cardiff City, who won the treble last season.
There’s also a top flight tussle for Flint Town United, who will pay a visit to Barry.
Wrexham are also on their travels to tackle Cwmbran Celtic, who are second in Adran South. Ties will be played on November 10.
Other ties: Llandudno v Aberystwyth; Swansea v Llanfair; Cascade v Cardiff Met; Briton Ferry Llansawel v Penybont; Caldicot v The New Saints.
