NEWCASTLE Eagles will be seeking revenge this weekend.
Eagles’ unbeaten Super League Basketball Trophy record was ended by Cheshire Phoenix in their last run-out and Newcastle will have home advantage for the meeting between the sides tonight.
Newcastle looked to be on course for a victory when they held a nine-point lead heading into the final quarter.
However, with MVP TJ Atwood in good form, Phoenix managed to turn things around as they claimed a 90-82 success as they maintained their own promising start in the trophy.
Cheshire have only lost one tie so far ahead of this evening’s showdown and a busy weekend is in the offing for Ben Thomas’ side.
On Sunday, they will return to Ellesmere Port to face Caledonia Gladiators, who host Sheffield tonight.
Tomorrow: Surrey v Leicester. Sunday: Bristol v London; Sheffield v Manchester
