GRESFORD ATHLETIC boss Eddie Maurice-Jones wants his side to produce a good performance from tonight’s trip to Flint Town United.

It’s certain Cymru North Gresford will be second favourites for the tie and Maurice-Jones (pictured) said: “It’s one of them. It’s going to be really, really difficult. We will take it as a learning game.

“As long as we give a good account of ourselves, I’ll be happy.”

Gresford go into the match on the back of a 2-0 win against Prestatyn Town. “That’s massive,” added Maurice-Jones. “The situation we have is in finding consistency.

“It was a great result last week and it was must-win for us.

“If we get anything like a result, it would be an absolute dream. But it will be a difficult one. I think the main thing is just performing well.”

Ben Buley will return and Joe Ormerod is unavailable.

Boss Lee Fowler had one eye on the Welsh Cup tie during Flint’s 5-0 Cymru Premier League loss to The New Saints in midweek.

There was some rotation in the Silkmen’s squad and Fowler told S4C’s Sgorio: “We try to manage the team and the squad.

“They’ve been patient and it’s important to give faith in them.

“It was absolutely planned the half-time substitutions, with sort of like 45 minutes each, leading into the Gresford game on Friday. It’s an important cup and the lads are aware that there’s important history within the cup as well.”

Aberystwyth Town can forget about the Cymru Premier struggles by beating Ammanford at home tomorrow while Haverfordwest are also favourites to see off visiting Trethomas Bluebirds.

Barry host Caerau and Briton Ferry are at New Inn.

Rhyl 1879, who knocked out Flint Mountain in the first round, head to Caersws while in-form Denbigh Town host Llangefni Town.

Cymru North Llandudno will be looking to dodge a potential banana skin in tomorrow’s late kick-off.

The Seasiders play host to Kinmel Bay, who stunned Brickfield Rangers with a 3-1 success in the last round.
