ARTHUR OKONKWO says Wrexham can be pleased with the start to the season but the goalkeeper still feels it could have been better both personally and as a team.

Phil Parkinson's men, who face Rotherham United at New York Stadium tomorrow, have hit the ground running in League One after clinching a second promotion in a row.

The Reds have taken 20 points from the opening 10 games and sit second in the table behind big-spending leaders Birmingham City, but Okonkwo, who made his move to The Racecourse permanent in the summer after a successful loan spell from Arsenal last term, is always striving for more.

"Obviously we would have wanted more out of some of the games," said the 23-year-old.

"But if we had said at the beginning of the season we'd get six wins, two draws and two losses, I think we'd definitely have taken that so we can be happy with our start.

"The important thing for us is not to look too much into where we are now.

"Just move game by game and focus on our next opponent, and the table will look after itself."

Okonkwo has started all 10 league games and kept five clean sheets, including four successive shut-outs following the 3-2 opening day win against Wycombe Wanderers.

Such are the high standards he sets, Okonkwo insists there is always room for improvement.

"It is still early but I am happy with what I have been able to get out since the beginning of the season," said the stopper, who has only conceded eight goals.

"I wish it would have better but it's okay."

Wrexham return to action at Rotherham following an enforced break after last Saturday's home match with Lincoln City was postponed due to international calls-ups in the Imps ranks.

With the batteries recharged, Okonkwo hopes the Reds pick up where they left off but he won't be taking the 15th placed Millers - relegated from the Championship last season - for granted.

"Some of the boys were saying it has been a while since they saw an international break," he said.

"It was good to get a few days of recovery and some players are dealing with different injuries, although nothing too serious.

"It is always good to get that time to rest and recover completely, and we are excited to be back."

Okonkwo added: ""I have said it before that every game this season is going to be difficult.

"Teams have been in this league or come down from the league above, and the teams that have come up are also very good. We don't treat anyone without respect.

"It is going to be a difficult game at Rotherham but we go there full of confidence and hopefully get a good result."
