PHIL PARKINSON didn't get the home tie he wanted to kick-off Wrexham's FA Cup campaign but he is looking forward to locking facing Harrogate Town once again.

The Reds, who sit second in League One, will face the Sulphurites - 14th in League Two - at Wetherby Road in the first round, with ties to be played between Friday November 1 and Monday November 4.

Parkinson will be hoping for a better outcome when Wrexham make the trip to north Yorkshire having seen the Reds suffer a 2-1 defeat at Harrogate at the same stage of the competition in November 2021 during his first season as  manager at The Racecourse.

"It seems a long time ago," said Parkinson, whose side drew both games against Harrogate last season on route to clinching promotion from League Two.

"We wanted a home draw like everybody else. We haven't got it but we will deal with it like we have done in the past.

"It's a decent ground to go to and we know them well.

"We know how they play and they have got a good identity; they have got a real honesty in terms of the way they play.

"When game comes we will be prepared for it and, as always, look to enjoy the FA Cup.

"We've got to the third round two years running and we'll try to make that three but it's round one first and I'm sure it will be a great cup tie.

"It is nice to play someone not in your division."
