JORDAN PARRY was left to reflect on a job well done by Connah’s Quay Nomads.

A 10th competitive win in a row arrived with Quay’s 3-0 win over NFA, which made it three wins out of three for Nomads in the group stage of the Adran Trophy.

Team boss Parry told the club’s X site: “It’s been a really good campaign to be fair.

“NFA were decent today. They posed us a different problem, sat in a lower block and we had to be patient in possession.

“I thought first half our ball retention was class. We were really, really good moving it.

“We just needed to have a little bit more of a purpose and break lines maybe a little bit more and then bringing on, obviously, Hannah (Slack) to come on and score her senior goal.”

Alisha Wright had Quay in the lead at half-time, while Slack and Alisha Whitehead-Hughes added late efforts to maintain Quay’s perfect start to the campaign.

“Alisha Whitehead with a fantastic finish towards the back end of the game,” added Parry.

“It’s been a not so much a frustrating day, but I expected maybe a little bit more goals, for us to be a bit more clinical in the final third.

“But, a very positive day and we’re looking forward to attack the week and go into next week’s game.”

Meanwhile, Wrexham captain Keren Allen was left frustrated following her side’s 1-0 Adran Premier defeat at Barry.

The Reds had opportunities to find the target, however Ellie Preece grabbed the decisive goal, just minutes after Wrexham defender Erin Lovett was sent off.

Allen told the club’s YouTube channel: “I thought the first half performance we were really good. We moved the ball really well.

“We had loads of opportunities. We just couldn’t find the back of the net.

“To be fair to them, Barry were clinical when they needed to be and that’s why we’re here with zero points, they’re on three.

“I just think, it says a lot the way they celebrated the goal.

“Clearly, they knew that for large parts of the game, they weren’t in it, but that’s football isn’t it?

“All you need is a goal and secure the points, and that’s something that we just haven’t been able to get today.”

Reflecting on the disappointing end to the contest, Allen added: “Ez (Lovett) couldn’t have done much in that scenario, you know.

“I think it was a bit of an unfair one. She’d just come on. She was just getting herself into the game.

“I think you’ve just got to stick together as a team and I think we did that to be fair.

“We will continue to stick together.

“I think we just need to continue to try and be positive now and really get going and find our next gear.”
