SALTNEY TOWN made it three wins on the spin as they beat Greenfield 4-2 to secure a place in the second round of the Horace Wynne Cup.

Ste Lewis was the star of the show with a hat-trick as Greenfield had two players - Dean Hyland and John Newtown - sent off.

It was the second week running that Greenfield, whose scorers were Jack Gibbons and Bailey Roberts, have had players red carded. Rowan Burdsall was Town’s other marksman.

Two ties went to penalties where the away teams both went through.

Overton Recreational won their shoot-out 5-3 after their tie at Castell Alun ended 1-1.

James Parry scored for The O’s after Arthur Doo had opened the scoring.

It also ended 1-1 at Broughton United where Hawarden Rangers held their nerve to win the shoot-out 4-2. Lewis Harrison had earlier put Hawarden in front with Ethan Evans replying.

Rhostyllen powered to a 10-2 win at Skippy where Tom Douglas fired in four goals - two of them from the penalty spot.

Liam Sklenar, Drew Wickens and Steven Jones all added doubles with Joao Da Silva also scoring twice for Skippy.

Lex XI powered to an 8-0 victory over Aston Park Rangers with top scorer Harry Massey hitting a hat-trick. Jonny Taylor (2), Josh Betteley, Ashton Williams and Kian Davies were also on the scoresheet.

Oliver Lewis (2), Curtis Griffiths, Josh Jones, Iwan Bennett, Ben Griffiths and an own goal earned Coedpoeth United a 7-2 success over FC Plas Madoc whose scorers were Nicky Williams and Craig Roberts.

Acton floored Cefn Druids 5-0 courtesy of a Niall Challoner treble and one each from Joe Garner and George Pattenden.

Mynydd Isa’s marksmen in a 4-0 home win over Ruabon Rovers were Sam Wainwright, Nathan Mendoza, Shaun Tinsley and Dan Wainwright.

Also through are Holywell United for whom Rhys Powell and Kieran Durkin netted in a 2-0 victory at Gronant.

In the North East Wales Premier Cup, FC Queen’s Park edged past Penyffordd Lions 2-1, Corey Smart hitting the winner from the penalty spot.

Brymbo moved level on points with North East Wales League Championship leaders Broughton United with an 8-0 demolition job on Deeside Dragons.

Evan Davies came off the bench to score three while Brandon Jones (2), Darren Mbele, Shane Wellings, and Niall Roberts were also on the scoresheet.

Yr Wyddgrug went one better with a 9-1 win against Cei Connah.

Lewis James fired in four goals and Hamilton John (2), Leon Sumner (2) and Sam Lloyd completed the job. Paddy Jones scored Cei’s consolation goal.

Kallum Pierce, Connor Davies and Aaron North netted in Rhydymwyn’s 3-0 victory over Sychdyn while Deeside United won 2-1 at Bellevue thanks to Bailey Hamilton’s double.
