CEFN ALBION are giving their all in a bid to turn their poor run of form around.

Cefn have lost their last four games which includes Welsh Cup and Welsh Trophy exits.

But boss Ian Andrews can’t fault his players’ commitment as they head to fourth-placed Kerry in the Ardal North East League tomorrow.

“We had one player, Kien Morris, who had landed from Mexico at 10am come and help out and one player with a bruised ankle,” said Andrews after last week’s 3-2 Trophy exit at Llannefydd.

“We just didn’t get the luck and it was a tough one to take with Llannefydd scoring in the 90th minute.

“The lads battled to the end and we couldn’t have asked for any more of them.

“Hopefully we’ve got five players back in contention this week, it’s about pushing the reset button and starting afresh at Kerry.”

Coming back into the squad are Tyler Wilkinson, Torne Samuels, Josh Millington, Morris and new signing Ben Farley.

Cefn are just a point clear of fourth-from-bottom Rhos Aelwyd, who head to basement-dwellers Llansantffraid.

Rhos’ winning run was ended at home by Builth Wells last Saturday but boss Gareth Jones remains positive and said: “We finished the game with three 16-year olds on the pitch with Osian Phillips making his senior debut having turned 16 the day before.

“Club captain Al Robertson is finally back, as well as four others who were missing against Builth, notably our top goalscorer Scott Reeves.”

Chirk AAA are also struggling at the wrong end of the table. They host Llanuwchllyn.

Penycae and Llangollen Town are second and third respectively aiming to catch up with leaders Bow Street, who head to Radnor Valley.

Llangollen host Builth Wells with Ben Wilson, who has 11 goals and seven assists this season, aiming to continue his hot streak.

“I can’t say Ben is in good form at the moment,” said Llan boss Luke Maybury. “That’s the level he performs to year in, year out.

“Ben has always been a superb goalscorer, even when playing youth football but over the past 18 months, his overall game has improved massively.”

Penycae head to Llanfair United hoping for a better return than they got in a 2-1 reverse at Llandrindod Wells a week ago.

Brickfield Rangers have been rocked by a bad injury to influential midfielder Harri Fuller.

A broken collar bone will rule him out which boss Gareth Wilson described as ‘a big negative’.

His side host Llanidloes Town tomorrow on the back of a 4-0 Welsh Trophy win at Berriew.

“We were excellent last Saturday in what has been a brilliant start to the season,” said Wilson.

Llandrindod Wells welcome Dolgellau while in the North West League, Connah’s Quay Town make the gruelling trek to Pwllheli.

“I don’t think it’s ever easy when you’ve got a near two-hour journey to make, so it’s going to be a difficult game against a team that can take points off anyone on their day,” said Town boss Gavin Parry. “But we’ve got a strong squad to pick from.”

Fifth-placed Town are just three points behind leaders Porthmadog, who travel to Conwy Borough.

Second-placed NFA make the trip to Holyhead Hotspur while Rhyl 1879 are also in Anglesey as they face Trearddur Bay.

Corwen head in the same direction to play rock-bottom Menai Bridger Tigers while fourth-placed Llangefni Town visit Llannefydd.

Other fixtures: Llanrwst Utd v St Asaph; Y Felinheli v Nantlle Vale.
