A MUCH-CHANGED Wrexham side proved too strong for Wolves under 21s as they won 3-0 at The Racecourse to reach the knockout stages of the EFL Trophy.

It was still a strong Reds team with Lewis Brunt and Paul Mullin scoring in the first half before Mo Faal struck after the break with a spectacular strike as Phil Parkinson's men booked their place in the last 32 of the competition for a second season in a row, and with one group game to go.

Here's how the players rated:

CALLUM BURTON: Was a virtual spectator in the first half and it was the same after the break with only a couple of things to do. 6

AARON JAMES: The defence had little to do as they kept Wolves' young guns at bay. 6

LEWIS BRUNT: Assured and comfortable as the middle centre-back and he also made it 1-0 with his first Reds' goal. 7

WILL BOYLE: Eased through the game and was solid. 7

ANTHONY FORDE: Was good to see him play and he had the assists for both first-half goals, and had a hand in the third. 7

JAMES JONES: Wrexham controlled the midfield battles. 6

OLLIE RATHBONE: The holding midfielder mopped up play and got forward at every opportunity. 7

HARRY ASHFIELD: Always wanted the ball and tried to make things happen. 7

SEBASTIAN REVAN: Supported attacks and one impressive run took him past several defenders. 7

PAUL MULLIN: Back on the scoresheet with a brilliant lob to make it 2-0. 7

MO FAAL: Got off the mark for Wrexham with stunning acrobatic volley in the second half. 7

SUBSTITUTES:

GEORGE DOBSON: Fresh legs in midfield. 6

STEVEN FLETCHER: A late substitute. 5

JACK MARRIOTT: Came on alongside Fletcher. 5

JAMES MCCLEAN: Brought on at the end. 5
