CHESTER are tough nuts to crack at their Deva Stadium home.

A fifth home clean sheet in a row went in the Blues’ favour against National League North opponents Farsley Celtic, but Chester weren’t able to claim a goal of their own as it finished 0-0.

Although his side stretched their unbeaten run to 11 games, boss Calum McIntyre was a frustrated figure after the final whistle.

He told Chester FC TV: “Really frustrating. Frustrating watch from where I was. Probably very frustrating to play in and probably very frustrating to watch from the stands.

“Very difficult to play against and it’s not for anyone else to comment on how a team sets up, but to play with a flat back-five, three deep midfielders and two forward players getting around our deep midfield players is very, very difficult to break down, because you have the ball in build-up situations with our defenders and there’s no pressure on the ball.

“But, you’re potentially doubled up elsewhere. You play into a forward player and you’re trying to open up a brick wall.”

Leaders Scunthorpe United were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Oxford City and Curzon Ashton defeated Buxton 1-0 to climb ahead of Chester and into second spot.
