A SEVEN-UP ensured Airbus returned to winning ways, but it wasn’t a straight-forward success against Prestatyn Town.

The Wingmakers, looking to bounce back from a 6-3 loss at Colwyn Bay, were tied up at 3-3 with the Seasiders at the midway point, but four second half goals confirmed a 7-3 win to keep Airbus four points clear at the top.

Boss Mark Allen told the club’s X site: “Pleased with the second half, not so much with the first half.

“I thought that we let our standards drop a little bit - a lot, actually - and no disrespect to Prestatyn, but we shouldn’t concede three goals.

“Happy with how we reacted, scoring four in the second half and winning the game, and that was the objective today.”

Strikes from Danny Warren, Jordan Evans and Jake Eyre looked to have the hosts in the box seat in the first half, but these were cancelled out by Zebb Edwards, Tom Weir and Greg Hall.

James Davies’ strike two minutes after coming off the bench regained the lead for Airbus, who went further clear through Warren, Sam Baker and 16-year-old Academy graduate Harry Jones.

Also looking to return to winning ways were Holywell Town and they duly did so with a 3-1 triumph at home to Llandudno.

The success made sure Johnny Haseldin’s defending champions climbed back into the top-three.

Holywell had the lead when Danny Andrews’ free kick was headed on by Danny Sullivan and Tom Bibby was there to score.

Jamie Breese handed the Wellmen a two-goal lead ahead of the break, while goal number three from Jake Cooke early in the second half managed to seal the deal.

Omar Ibrahim pulled one back for Llandudno midway through the second half, while Breese thought he had a second goal late on, only for it to be ruled out for offside.

Gresford Athletic were the latest team to come undone in a meeting with title-chasing Colwyn Bay.

Michael Wilde’s in-form Seagulls made it six league wins on the bounce with a 5-0 verdict, which kept them four points adrift of leaders Airbus.

The opening stages were evenly matched, with neither side managing to find any real clear-cut chances.

A 28th minute Bay free kick did force a good save from Lewis Dutton and a minute later, Josh Watkin did superbly to clear the ball off the line.

Colwyn Bay took control with two goals in the space of four minutes, scored by Sol Forde and Joshua Carey.

The away side controlled the second half, with Gwion Dafydd (2) and Dan Atkins adding to the tally.

Caersws claimed a thrilling 5-3 triumph in their home meeting with Guilsfield.

Craig Harris (2), Sam Phillips, Ashley Harries and Max McLaughlin netted for the hosts, as Jamie Hyne, Jake Cooke and Iwan Matthews kept Guilsfield interested.

Zac Davies’ 92nd minute strike made sure Penrhyncoch stunned Bangor 1876 3-2. Dan Owen and Cameron Allen grabbed the others with Corrig McGonigle and Iolo Hughes replying.
