LLANGOLLEN TOWN boss Luke Maybury says his team are taking things in their stride in what has been a superb start to the Ardal North East League season.

“We’re feeling good, but to be fair, with the group we’ve got, the feeling’s good when the times are tough as well,” said Maybury, who knows a win at home to rock-bottom Llansantffraid would lift them into the top three.

Town go into the game after winning 2-1 at Brickfield Rangers where Ben Wilson bagged a double.

“Bricky was a good game,” added Maybury, whose side were hammered 5-0 by the same opponents in the Welsh Trophy just four weeks ago.

“We had to adjust from the first game when we played right into their hands. We tweaked a few things but it was still a close game that could have gone either way.”

In-form Penycae head Llandrindod Wells looking to extend their unbeaten league run to eight games.

A 2-2 draw at Llanuwchllyn last week ended a six-match winning run but boss Jack Ellis said: “It was a good point that takes us seven unbeaten with six wins and a draw.

“It’s a tough game at Llan Wells but we go there with lots of confidence and some players are returning from injury which will boost the squad.”

Rhos Aelwyd host Builth Wells looking for a third win on the bounce.

“We really worked hard to ensure three more points and our first clean sheet,” said Rhos boss Gareth Jones.

“The difference in morale and mindset is incredible, even after one result.

“I have over 20 lads training each week and we are committed to ensuring we represent Rhos with pride and respect. Captain Aled Robertson is hopefully back fit and Kai Morris and Evan Davies are back.”

Chirk AAA are heading into the right direction and eyeing up a third win of the season at Kerry.

Phil Pearce, Caleb Davies and Niall Freeman all miss out but youngster Dylan Northall will retain his place following his fine display last weekend.

Charlie Parkinson is also added to manager Tom Roberts’ squad.

Dolgellau go to Radnor Valley while North West League leaders Porthmadog will extend their advantage at the top by picking up three points at bottom-of-the-table Menai Bridge Tigers, who have yet to win a game this season.

A win for Corwen at NFA would also see them move into the top half of the table,

Tomorrow’s other fixtures: Y Felinheli v Conwy Borough; St Asaph City v Llangefni Town.

Connah’s Quay Nomads and Flint Mountain look to continue their impeccable starts to the FAW Reserves North East League season tomorrow.

Both sides have won their opening seven games and while Nomads are favourites to pick up another three points at Denbigh Town, Flint are in for a battle at third-placed Gresford Athletic.

Athletic are also unbeaten after their opening seven games and just two points behind the front-runners.

The New Saints, in fourth place, host St Asaph while there’s a derby date between Buckley Town and Airbus.

Llay Welfare host Ruthin Town and Holywell Town go to NFA.
