MOLD ALEX’S substitutions worked a treat as they made it through to the third round of the North East Wales U15s Cup.

Luke Boulton grabbed a treble after coming on and Marley Banks hit two in a 7-2 success over Connah’s Quay Tigers. Jack Parry also scored twice with Austin Wyatt and replying.

Cefn United edged out Coedpoeth United Falcons 4-3. Theo Hughes, Oliver Whitley and Jack Jenkinson made a real game of it for Coedpoeth, whose Celts’ side beat Hawarden 4-2. 

Luke Plant (2), Charlie Messham and Lewis Capper got the goals for Rangers with Aiden Futia and Ethan Cudworth-Jones replying.

Lex XI were also 4-2 winners at Gresford Athletic thanks to Sam Mottershead (2), Dewi Robertson and Cai Roberts. Joe Scott and Rhys Halliwell hit back for Gresford.

Ruthin Town were 5-3 winners at AFC Flint for whom Finley Carbutt, Tobi Osunjimi and Frankie Harper scored.

Lewis Upton (2) and Jacob Hughes earned Mynydd Isa a 3-1 win over Brymbo, whose scorer was Oliver Griffiths, while Borras Park Albion Yellows went through 2-1 at Buckley Town for whom Declan Windel netted.

Rhydymwyn were impressive 9-5 winners at Chirk in the U16s Cup.

Ethan Hogan hit four of them with Ryan Garrett (2), Finlay Lloyd, Liam Trevor and Oliver Lewis also on target. Ashton Shanley (3), Cameron McKay and Armani Borri replied for Chirk.

Cai Price, Osian Phillips and Rhys Jones hit hat-tricks as Rhos Aelwyd beat Broughton United while Lennon Young scored four for Aston Park Rangers in a 7-1 win over Borras Park Albion Yellows, whose scorer was Finley Smith. Finley Lavery scored two of Rangers’ other goals.

Connah’s Quay Town also hit seven as Rhys Roberts and Connor Morris-Jones hit doubles against Borras Park Albion Blues.

Holywell Town won 4-0 at Buckley Town thanks to Jacob Duffy (2), Osian Edwards and Louie Doleman while Daniel Robert-Evans, Joseff Thomas, Samuel Martin and Cian Jones earned Ruthin a 4-2 win at Penycae for whom George Nash and Elis Jones replied.

In the Wrexham Junior League U14s Cup, Coedpoeth United sneaked through 2-1 at FC Queen’s Park while Cameron Hughes fired in five and captain Alfie Evans scored four in Chirk’s big win over Bala.

There were also two ties in Flintshire’s Ken Partington U13s Cup.

Alfie Grafton scored four in Mynydd Isa’s 10-2 win at Deeside Dragons Derwyns. Thomas Stages, JJ Price and two own goals completed the job.

Archie Cheshire and Lennon Williams hit doubles in Saltney Town’s 7-1 success against Halkyn United. Isaac Sheen, Jasper Hett and Alec Wozniak also scored with Zachary Taylor hitting back.

In the Luke Ashford U12s Cup, Holywell Town held their nerve to beat FC Nomads 3-2 on penalties after their tie finished 4-4.

Goalkeeper Kyle Bibby scored one of Nomads’ goals with Teddy Rossington, Georgie Harmes and Charlie Tovey also on target.

Jacob Chamberlain hit a hat-trick in Buckley Town’s big win over Mynydd Isa while Mold Alex Town knocked out their United club-mates.

Patryk Wytrwal and Aldo Coretz Marchesini grabbed doubles as Saltney Town won 8-4 at Mynydd Isa Young Guns while Deeside Dragons beat Broughton United Super Saints 4-2.
