Mold’s five tries on the day were shared by Scott Jones (2), James Portsmouth, Reece Le Tissier and Ethan Roberts.

Jack Lawrence contributed 11 points with four conversions and a penalty.

Wrexham were competitive in what is likely to be their toughest away day of the season.

They headed to defending champions and undefeated league leaders Nant Conwy, who maintained their fine start to the campaign with a 38-12 scoreline.

After Nant moved 12-0 ahead, Wrexham hit back with an unconverted 37th minute try from Tyler Roberts.

Nant Conwy added another try before the interval and they grabbed a further three scores in the second period.

One further bright spot went to Wrexham with Sam Jones’ 70th minute try, which was converted by Jacob Hughes.

Caernarfon made it four wins out of four with their 46-7 success versus Llangefni, while Bala defeated Ruthin 19-12.

Bethesda prevailed 29-25 at COBRA and Pwllheli got the better of Llandudno 64-29.

Wrexham Athletic maintained their spot at the top of Division Three North East courtesy of their 76-3 victory versus Flint.

Meanwhile, second-placed Llanidloes eased to a 48-0 triumph over Denbigh Athletic.

In Division Two North, leaders Dolgellau won 16-8 at Abergele and Welshpool maintained their unbeaten record with a 24-17 outcome at Colwyn Bay.

Machynlleth saw off Rhyl & District 15-7 and there was a 38-24 triumph for Newtown against Caernarfon Athletic.

It’s back-to-back Super Rugby Cymru wins for RGC, who won an epic game 61-42 at home to Pontypool.

RGC led 39-21 at the interval thanks to tries from Dion Jones, Sam Stoddard (2), Ilan Evans and Rhys Tudor.

Stoddard completed his hat-trick in the second half and there was also a try for Sam Williams as RGC claimed a victory which moved them up to third in the standings, level on points with leaders Newport.

Director of rugby Josh Leach told the RGC website: “What a manic game of rugby, 60 points in the first half, 103 points overall.

“We can be disappointed with some of the tries we let in, but we showed a great response when we got back in the game after their early scores.

“We went in at half time in a strong position, came out and played well but then settled back and let then in again.

“As a group, we showed good discipline and resilience to dig in and make sure we pushed on.

“We now look to next week and the focus is on our first away trip, and facing Pontypool in the return game which doesn’t normally happen so quickly in the league.”
